Chicagoland Food Industry Scholarship

For students intending to work in the food industry

NEW This Year for Scholarship Recipients!

Opportunity to Have a Mentor From the Food Industry

An added benefit for scholarship recipients will be the opportunity to have a mentor from the food science industry and/or academia.

The Student Mentorship Program is being planned for a 3-month time period with a total of 6 meetings beginning either in September 2022 or January 2023.

More information will be provided to those awarded a CFSF scholarship.

Freshman Scholarship – $2,500

Freshman Scholarship

Eligible applicants can be awarded $2,500.00 to support studies in food science or a food science related area.

Applicants must either live in the Chicagoland area OR be attending a college in the Chicagoland area.*

Deadline: Sunday, March 13, 2022

*Applicable regions include the following zip codes: 60000-61999, 62300-62399, 62500-62799, 46300-46499

Freshman Scholarship Application Requirements:
1. You must be a US citizen or Green Card holder
2. You must be pursuing a degree in Food Science or Food Science related area (Dairy Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Nutrition, etc)
3. You must be attending school within the Chicago Section IFT boundaries or have a permanent address within the same boundaries
4. You will be required to supply contact information (name, phone numbers, and e-mails) for two references. References must be a professor, instructor, teacher, advisor, or supervisor.
5. You will be required to provide an unofficial school transcript.
6. You will be required to provide either your ACT or your SAT score.

All applicants must provide 2 references. References are required to complete the online reference form. Send this link to your references to be completed no later than March 13, 2022.

Undergraduate & Graduate Scholarship

$5,000 Full-Time / $2,500 Part-Time Students

Undergraduate & Graduate Scholarships

Eligible applicants can be awarded $2,500 for part-time students and $5,000 for full-time students to support studies in food science or a food science related area.

Applicants must either live in the Chicagoland area OR be attending a college in the Chicagoland area.*
