Receiving this scholarship is allowing me to continue the pursuit of my bachelors in Food Science. Without its aid I would not be able to pursue the most amazing major at my dream school. I am beyond grateful for all the opportunities this scholarship has allowed me to achieve and cannot wait to see what the future holds for me.

Sarah Batka – FreshmanUniversity of IL
Receiving this scholarship is a great honor. I am grateful to have been selected for this opportunity to gain assistance in my college tuition. As a food science major at UIUC, I intend to use the skills I gain in the classroom to innovate and make a positive impact on the way food is chemically enhanced. After college, my goal is to eventually progress towards becoming a flavor chemist. Food science in general really intrigues me and is something I am passionate to study, so I am delighted to have the help of the CFSF to aid in supporting my college goals.
Michelle Langnickel – UndergraduateUniversity of MN
I was so honored to find out that I was chosen as the recipient of this scholarship. I hope to give back and help out as you all have helped me. Thank you so much for this opportunity, I am beyond grateful!
Aubrey Dunteman – GraduateUniversity of IL
I am honored to have been selected as a recipient of this scholarship. Not only does it further motivate me to explore my passion within the realm of food science, but it serves as a great reminder that one should never doubt themselves. I believe many of us over the past year have experienced hardship and a feeling that we are not accomplishing enough, but such generous support and recognition from the Chicagoland Food Science Foundation has truly strengthened my confidence in my abilities as a future food scientist. To fellow students, accept those opportunities that you may otherwise pass up for fear of inadequacy! University will be difficult and testing at times, but we are all in pursuit of an education to make an impact in the world, so remember not to minimize your accomplishments that have helped you to get where you are!
Dina Graves – UndergraduateClemson University
I am very thankful to be a recipient of the Chicagoland Food Science Foundation Scholarship! Winning this scholarship inspires me to work even harder towards my degree. I am tremendously grateful for the Chicagoland Food Science Foundation and everyone that make this scholarship available.
Samantha Golemba – FreshmanUniversity of IL
First off, I just want to say thank you for choosing me to represent this foundation and giving me the opportunity for this scholarship. Nutrition and understanding the effects food has on the body is something that I am very passionate about. Being able to represent a foundation that is involved with and surrounded around my passion is something I am super grateful for. Thanks again for giving me this opportunity and providing me with this wonderful experience!
Gwendoline Balto – UndergraduateUniversity of IL
It is an honor to be a recipient of this scholarship as it is an acknowledgment of my hard work, success, and passion as a student. However, it also fosters my growth as a well-rounded individual with other life roles such as being a daughter, sister, and friend. The financial support ensures educational opportunities, but it also provides me the chance to dedicate necessary time and energy to the relationships and people that have been neglected due to work hours as a means of securing rent and loan payments. My career requires more than education knowledge; the empathy, selflessness, and compassion I experience and exercise within my social relationships is imperative to my work as a future registered dietitian.
Zhenya Evans – UndergraduateUniversity of IL
I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for this honorable award. With generous support like this, I will be able to achieve my education goals and obtain a degree in a field I am passionate about. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all and wish you and your families all the best.
Lauren Bock – UndergraduateSt. Mary’s College
Receiving this scholarship will provide me with the means to continue to further my education at Saint Mary’s College and one day pursue a career in the food industry. My education has allowed me to gain many of the necessary skills for a successful career in this industry, but my passion lies in inspiring change in my surrounding community and the world. Innovation and creativity can pay dividends in the creation of new products and I hope to channel my own creativity to make a significant impact in the food industry in the future. One day I hope to give back to this scholarship fund and help another student pursue their goals. I am both honored and grateful to be the recipient of the 2021-2022 CFSF scholarship.
