  3. Degree/Major/Research focus:
    I’m pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition. I’m currently working in Dr. Youngsoo Lee’s lab under Yiming Feng on microencapsulation with microfluidic chips.
  4. How did you choose your area of study?
    I really enjoy baking for my family and friends. I wanted to learn more about the science behind baking and what components go into the ingredients that I use. This led me to learn more about how food companies develop and maintain quality products.
  5. How has this scholarship helped you?
    This scholarship has helped me financially, allowing me to focus on my academics and participate in extracurricular activities. I specifically joined the Food Product Development Club, where we work in teams and create a product for internal competitions. This will be beneficial towards a possible future career in Research and Development.
  6. What is your favorite class this semester and why?
    My favorite class would be bowling because it helped relieve stress, and I found myself improving as a bowler over time.
