Aimee is a second year food science master’s student at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, working under Dr. Soo-Yeun Lee. Aimee’s research involves sensory evaluation of sodium reduced products. She has always been interested in food, whether it was playing “restaurant” as a kid or helping her mom in the kitchen, but Aimee was first introduced to food science on an undergraduate college visit. The combination of sciences and their application to food peaked Aimee’s interest, as did the many career avenues possible with a food science degree!
Being awarded the Food Industry Scholarship not only eases my mind financially, but boosts my confidence that I have chosen the correct career path! I look forward to being involved in the Chicagoland section!
