  4. How did you choose your area of study?
    Ever since I was in college I became passionate with the world of microbiology, and during my junior year of college I found my passion in Food Safety. Every year in the US and worldwide, there are constant food recalls due to foods being contaminated with physical, chemical and biological hazards. As a Ph.D. student, I investigate the use of technologies to enhance food safety of foods and reduce the incidence of food borne outbreaks caused by pathogenic bacteria.
  5. How has this scholarship helped you?
    This Scholarship has helped me to cover part of my student fees at the university of Illinois as well as purchase personal academic materials
  6. What is your favorite class this semester and why?
    I am done with all my course requirements but I do enjoy attending a weekly seminar in my department where guest from academia and industry give talks about various topics on what to do with our degrees upon graduation.
