- How did you choose your area of study?
Ever since I was in college I became passionate with the world of microbiology, and during my junior year of college I found my passion in Food Safety. Every year in the US and worldwide, there are constant food recalls due to foods being contaminated with physical, chemical and biological hazards. As a Ph.D. student, I investigate the use of technologies to enhance food safety of foods and reduce the incidence of food borne outbreaks caused by pathogenic bacteria.
