  3. Degree/Major/Research focus:
    Ph.D. degree in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition on computational modeling of water transport during food processes such as drying and cooking for food products including vegetables, fruits, and cereals.
  4. How did you choose your area of study?
    My interest in mathematically modeling food processes grew more during the internships I have done in food production factories, where I realized the production can be optimized even further once you know what outcome to expect.
  5. How has this scholarship helped you?
    Being an international student is already hard in every aspect. From financial point of view, this scholarship will help me pay my tuition and fees. It is also the first scholarship I received from IFT, which helped me gain confidence in the world of food science and encouraged me to have further accomplishments.
  6. What is your favorite class this semester and why?
    My favorite classes have always been food processing classes and others related to food engineering. Because I believe, it is our duty as food scientists to merge the knowledge about food with engineering practices so that we develop food products with the best possible taste, quality and quantity.
